I’ve always loved a good story, whether told through song, picture or movie. These stories capture the beautiful mess that we are and bring us closer to the innate desire of every human being – to feel connection.

My name is Emily, and in January 2023, I decided to uproot my life in the USA and move to the center of Eastern Europe: Belgrade, Serbia. I’m a dreamer, and I realize that I’ve only got one shot at this thing called life. It waits for no one, so I might as well live it fully and authentically as I can while I can. In other words, life is short. Just eat the damn cheeseburger.

This blog is how I choose to tell my story of life abroad. It’s my safe space to share the places I’ve been, people I’ve met, and moments I’ve experienced (with some practical topics sprinkled in). Ultimately, it’s for me, but I hope the stories I tell can be for you too.
